Palram Americas, a leading manufacturer of polycarbonate and PVC sheets, has successfully completed the evaulation process to verify that many of its covering products comply with Canada's National Buidling Code (NBC). The Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC) conducted the tests and issued Evaluation Report #13450-R, specifically relating to Canopy Covering applications. The Canadian NBC is established by National Research Council Canada (NRC-CNRC), and is similar to the International Code Council (ICC) in the United States. This is a required approval for sales of construction materials in the Canadian market.
The evaluation report is listed in the National Research Council Canada’s website, and can be downloaded in PDF format. An excerpt from the Evaluation Report 13450-R is as follows (for the full report, click here):
Suntuf®, Palruf ®, Palopaque®, Sunlite®, Palsun® and Suntop® (polycarbonate and polyvinyl chloride panels)” when used as a canopy covering in accordance with the conditions and limitations stated in Section 3 of CCMC Evaluation Report #13450-R, complies with the National Building Code 2010.
